Our Policies
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made 60 days prior to your stay are subject to a 10% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 60 days of your stay are non-refundable unless we are successful in rebooking those dates at the original rate. If travelling from afar, we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance that gives full cancellation coverage.
Reception and Event Policy
Goose Cove Retreat has successfully hosted several small receptions and events including weddings. However, as the facility is on a well and septic system, such gatherings are restricted to no more than 25 people in total and must be pre-arranged to enable appropriate preparations to be made. A fee of $250.00 is charged for such events and, you the host, are solely responsible for the actions of all your guests. No tents, canopies or other structures may be erected on the property without prior permission.
Force Majeure
a) If you have to cancel your booking due to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances (including, but not limited to, government measures prohibiting travel, air traffic control strikes, serious adverse weather conditions making it impossible to fly, pandemic, epidemic, other serious health risks, warfare, other serious security problems such as terrorism, or natural disasters), the cancellation terms above shall apply. In such circumstances, we may (acting in our sole discretion) provide you with a voucher in the value of your booking which can be used to make a booking with us at a future date.
b) If we are unable to fulfil your booking due to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances (as described in the paragraph above), or we conclude that such circumstances mean that it is not commercially viable for us to do so, we may cancel your booking and provide you with a voucher in the value of your booking which can be used to make a booking with us at a future date. We will use all reasonable efforts to notify you of a cancellation of your booking for the reasons set out in this paragraph as far in advance of your booking as possible.
Early departures are considered cancellations and will be treated in the same manner. If we are unable to rebook the facility, you will be charged for the entirety of your booking.
Liability of the Company
For the avoidance of doubt the Company will not be liable for loss or injury suffered by the guest which was outside the control of the Company. We would recommend that you obtain suitable insurance to cover loss or injury and you will ensure all travelling companions or guest on the property are made aware of such recommendation. The Company shall not be obligated to make any payments in those circumstances. You will be required to sign a waiver to this affect.
Pet Policy
We understand that pets are family members. If you have a well -behaved pet and willing to assume responsibility for them, then they are welcome guests at Goose Cove. The rules are straightforward.
- One pet only
- you must fill out the attached pet registration form;
- you are expected to clean up after your pet;
- you must assume responsibility for any additional clean-up related to their presence;
- pets are not permitted on the furniture or in/on the beds;
- ideally, your pet should be kept in their kennel or holding crate at night; and
- pets must be appropriately managed to avoid disturbing neighbors.
Smoking Policy
We ask that the only interior smoke be the product of a cozy fire blazing in the hearth.
No smoking of cigarettes or cigars is permitted inside the premises.
Number of Guests Policy
While Goose Cove Retreat provides ample space for lounging and group gatherings, we have a policy of maximum 8 overnight guests.
Under certain circumstances, we will accommodate additional guests for an added fee of $100 per night per person.
